Bruno Mars Said It

Black black black and blue
Beat me til I’m numb, tell the devil I said “hey”
When you get back to where you’re from

Homeless Shelter List Again?

Well Monday morning, I’m back on the Homeless Shelter lists. I’d rather listen to strangers tell me what they think when they know nothing about how I feel rather than be subjected to family who think they know how I feel. The truth is that no one knows how I feel because no one knows what I lived through. There aren't any words known to me anyway to describe what I have faced and will continue to face for being a faithful wife for 34 years.

Homeless after all those years? How could this be so?

The Sonnet Revised

Instrumental arrangement of a song by Utada Hikaru, titled "First Love"

Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare (modern revision)

If I described myself in a few words it would be 'Sonnet One hundred sixteen'.
From that you would know my heart and my soul - and what kind of person I am.

The first time I heard Sonnet 116 was from my English literature teacher - Mr. Camp. From him I learned to love Shelley, Keats, Byron, and most of all Shakespeare.

Sonnet 116 is the most beautiful piece of written work, along side of the Bible and the Declaration of Independence.

'True love is an ever-fixed' mark - but sometimes it is the saddest place in the world - when you find that you gave away your heart and you are not loved in return.

But one thing I do know. When I leave this world and meet my Maker - I will be able to hold my head high and know that I kept a promise I made.

Shakespearian style poetry and prose is not easily understood by some, so I chose to replace it with a more simple version. I didn't follow the traditional quatrains with iambic pentameter, I just laid them out as the piece fit. Hopefully, you understand what I tried to convey.

The music piece I chose is a really beautiful instrumental version of a Japanese song by Utada Hikaru.

A Father's Hand

This video came from a story I read about a Father and a daughter getting ready to cross a bridge. The father somewhat scared asked his daughter to hold his hand. Her reply is the lesson for all of us - for us as a parent and as a child of God.
